The finance group is responsible for setting Presbytery Budget, maintaining sound financial records, producing Presbytery year end accounts.

They support treasurers in all aspects of congregational finance. Attesting final year accounts for OSCR reporting. Helping Congregations understand their Giving2Grow assessments.

Convener of Finance works closely with the Presbytery Treasurer to manage all financial aspects of Presbytery life as well as helping congregations navigate the complexities of being a charity today.

Membership: Convenor, Vice-Convenor plus 6 others.

  1. To act as the Superintendence Committee in terms of Local Church Review [Act I 2011] and all other acts of General Assembly which assign duties to a Presbytery Superintendence Committee.
  2. To make all arrangements for Local Church Reviews, including scheme of visitation, team composition and training, ensuring consistent follow-up of action plans, in consultation with other relevant Committees.
  3. To encourage and support congregations in implementing Local Church Review action plans. Teams appointed from this committee to conduct Local Church Reviews may be expected to continue to work with the congregation reviewed over the following years providing support as agreed plans are put into action.
  4. To be the point of referral for issues of conflict in congregations.
  5. To organise the annual inspection of Congregational Records.
  6. To oversee data protection requirements for the Presbytery and congregations.
  7. To support and encourage Session Clerks, Treasurers, and other congregational office-bearers.
