Seeds for Growth (National CoS Fund)

Financial assistance to help parishes

-Start a new Christian group/community

-Develop & nurture faith for under 40s

-Grow the existing congregation

Level 1 Up to £1000

-Experiment by running an event in the community

-Conduct a community & mission audit

-Develop skills or knowledge to equip for mission i.e. pay for mission courses

Level 2 Up to £10,000

-New work which requires a salary

-Bigger project

Level 3 Up to £40,000 for up to 3 years

-Core funding of major mission projects which have tested out their ideas and are now looking to upscale their work amongst a particular community or area.

Successful awards include…

SFG level 3 > Creating a pipeline to produce youth ministers

SFG level 1 > Holiday club for Seniors

SFG Level 1 > Community Consultation & Open day with family activities

SFG Level 1 > Fees paid to enable participation on Pioneer Course

Speak to the Mission Officer about this and he can help you at every stage of the application.

Applications are agreed by the Presbytery Council and processed by the Grants department at 121 George Street.

Good Ideas Fund (Held within Presbytery) for Growth

This is a wee fund of up to £500 to encourage churches to try new things and to better serve their community with the gospel.

Applications are processed by the Mission Committee.

Recent successful awards have enabled

  • New equipment for holiday club
  • Quality flyers to be produced & printed for New Housing
  • The presence & participation at an agricultural show
  • Showing a series of films in the village hall
  • Running a ‘ready steady cook’ course in the community centre
